There are many ways to speed up invisalign treatment.
1. Keep your appointment
Dr. Grace is very experienced and confident with Invisalign designs and treatment plans. She carefully builds in every movement of every single tooth in each aligner. She needs to see you for about 20 minutes every 3-4 months to ensure everything is moving the right direction according to plan. Unfortunately, postponing your appointment or cancelling it can delay your result.
2. Wear your aligners at least 22 hours/day
Braces or Invisalign, are both tools to move your teeth. Your teeth need consistent pressure on them in order to move properly. Frequent on and off pressure from inconsistent aligner usage will allow teeth to shift back. Too much back-and -forth movement can cause relapse which prolong the treatment.
3. Ask for Propel (micro-osteoperforation)
Micro-osteoperforation(MOPS) is a technique used to accelerate the rate of orthodontic tooth movement. This university developed technique uses proven technology and an innovative, micro-invasive delivery to accelerate treatment up to 62%. MOPs uses our own biology to stimulate faster tooth movement on a cellular level safely. It does this by increasing the rate of bone remodeling, allowing teeth to move more quickly and easily.
4. Ask about Acceleration Devices
If Propel is not an option for you, Acceledent® or VPro5 might be a good alternative. These devices distribute gentle vibrations to accelerate tooth movement. You can use Acceledent 20 minutes /day. Vpro5 Claimed 5 minutes/day.
For this gentleman patient, Dr. Grace provided successful Propel procedure. The procedure lasted about 30 minutes. He changed his aligner every 5 days. The most crowding got resolved within the first 6 months that is even faster than braces.
